Jordan Podda - Web Designer
Having joined the company in 2008, Jordan has progressed through the ranks to become the lead designer, and his influence can be seen on every website delivered by Juicy Media.
Through his product design background, Jordan has a unique perspective on style and prominence, using this to educate traditionally print-oriented organisations on the ways-of-the-web. Jordan has been the key to developing a harmony between designers and developers, where now the two factions work closely, where design now influences functionality without compromise.
Peter Davies - Technical Director
Complementing Ian's skillset, Pete provides the technical concepts and direction on most projects. Whether you get to speak to him or not, at some point he will be involved to make sure that seemingly impossible development tasks and delivery are completed on time and within budget.
During his career he has worked on engagements with clients in a wide variety of industry sectors, automotive institutions, entertainment and media organisations, computer security, telecommunications, printed circuit board design and manufacture, software development, as well as various charity organisations.
Primarily a computer security expert by education, recently his activity with large-scale web applications has resulted in him becoming one of the UK's experts on delivering secure cloud-based Open-Source technology to corporate and educational entities.
Ian Strachan - Managing Director
As the Managing Director, Ian's role is critical to the running of day-to-day activities. Described as the “all seeing eye” of the business, Ian liaises with most clients and can often be seen lurking in the background making sure that the well-oiled Juicy machine keeps moving in the right direction.
From a marketing and travel industry background, Ian has worked with most of the UK's largest tour operators and at one point was responsible for hundreds of travel websites coupled with complex online marketing strategies. This has lead Ian to become a well versed and successful online e-marketer allowing him to apply his marketing and web knowledge to other market sectors for use by Juicy clients.
Jon Crawshaw - Senior Developer
Jon has been with Juicy Media since the early days. His skillset and knowledge cannot be surpassed and with this comes experience and efficiency that means every project he helps deliver is supplied to the upmost highest standards, and always customer focused.
As a core Magento and Joomla expert and as a team leader within Juicy Media, Jon has had direct involvement with delivering most Enterprise-grade applications to our customers. Using his strong UI understanding infused with his core development capability, makes Jon the ultimate web developer to have on your side during a site build.
Adam Smethurst - Sales Manager
Working closely with Ian and Pete, Adam has the exclusive task of examining a client’s requirements to match their budget to deliverable functionality; something that most companies would ignore or not comprehend.
This has led Adam to become Juicy’s single point of contact regards all new projects, and his active involvement with the development schedules means that he’s always abreast of the latest tasks. Whilst at work Adam is dedicated to helping clients maximise their profitability, whereas out of work, as well as being a father, he is actively involved as a talented musician, playing the lead guitarist in a World-renowned band called Dear Superstar.
Michael Oldroyd - Web Developer
Mic has been the primary developer on many of our large-scale Joomla projects, where a client has requested exact application functionality to match their business processes.
What sets Mic aside from most developers is his approach to a given project by first asking what a client wants to achieve. By understanding the bigger picture, he can carefully assess a client’s requirements, and lead them through the development process. Often Mic starts with our prototyping tool Axure to define an exact “process flow” of a given project. From here he works with the team to create bespoke tool, tailored to the client’s requirements exactly.
Craig Henry - Web Developer
As the company’s system architect and coding “guru”, Craig has extensive experience with building and designing large-scale applications in numerous Open-Source frameworks. As well as being bi-lingual with English and Japanese, Craig can code in over 10 (and counting) computer languages.
From simple research and development through to application build and release, Craig’s speciality is complex bleeding-edge Zend Framework based applications such as Magento. Where he really comes in to his own is when he is building bespoke applications that meet a client’s exact requirements and conforming to common open standards such as PCI-DSS. Where Magento is concerned, Craig has been the primary developer on many product import and back-office integrations, dealing with large-scale ERP applications such Sage and Epicor and also creating import processes to obtain product datasheets from systems such as Open Icecat and CNET amongst many.
Steve Davies - Project Manager
Having worked in all kinds of offices and industries he is the only one that knows how to make real (strong) coffee. Older, by several hundred years than the rest of the team put together, Steve’s wisdom and patience is his strongest gift and this enables him to tackle any project with foresight and the aptitude to manage client expectations.
With a background in Marketing and Product development, Steve’s role has progressed to that of an information architect, translating client requirements in to tangible digital processes. The other team members then use this information to construct phases for design and development. Steve is also our primary E-Commerce and CMS training expert, having both been a customer and user of these tools, through to now being the supplier, integrator and lecturer.
Claire Brooks - Accountant and PA to Directors
Working closely with Ian and Pete, Claire’s extensive knowledge of Juicy Media and its day-to-day operations means that she can autonomously make most operational decisions.
She is also heavily involved with maintaining all aspects of day-to-day office operation, and coordinates with the various creative and development teams to make sure that they know what’s happening. Attention to detail and dedication to completing tasks means that she is the primary contact for all office communications.
Peter Hilton – Operations Director
Having worked with Ian and Pete from the beginning, Peter’s invaluable experience in the travel industry has led him to expand his business operations to several global brands.
His direct involvement with Juicy Media has meant that direction and focus has been maintained in the right areas.
Ryan Kliszat – E-Commerce Director
Ryan has been working in E-commerce in London since 1997 and was one of the original dot-com boom kids. After the experience of riding the bubble up-and-down, he developed a multi-million pound national e-commerce agency which was later acquired by a large global organisation.
The result of this many years of experience is the understanding that customers need to re-examine the basics; looking at ways in which technology can create profitability, highlighting the correct products and markets that will enable online growth – and applying these techniques to new businesses. Ryan is also actively involved with the IMRG, judging their UK internet awards, where his skills and experience are used to evaluate some of the existing and new to market agencies and companies who operate their retail practices online.
Victoria Strachan – the real boss (she thinks)
Vicky has been involved since the start; she has been involved in all the jobs at juicy hq in the early days spending time doing accounts, testing and generally keeping us all in check. Never one to pass up a free lunch Vicky has spent significant time with clients and has aided us in gathering their requirements
